For anyone who has sensed that education is shifting but can’t quite name how, Learning in the Age of Hybridity offers a fresh, human, and optimistic perspective.

The book grew out of my keynote at a Moodle Moot in Melbourne, Australia, where I tried to make sense of the societal shifts unfolding around us. Midway through the talk, I realized this wasn’t just a presentation, it was the beginning of a much larger story.

As a career educator, I have worked across classrooms, schools, and adult learning, witnessing firsthand the subtle but profound changes shaping how we learn, teach, and grow. We are living through a quiet unraveling of long-held assumptions about intelligence, achievement, identity, and the meaning of learning. From the hidden weight of constant competition to the uncanny ways artificial intelligence mirrors our thinking back to us, this book connects dots most of us didn’t realize were related.

Blending personal experience, research, and cultural insight, it explores education as a single, interconnected system shaped by the values we carry within it. Full of warmth, insight, and gentle humor, Learning in the Age of Hybridity is for anyone ready to see learning anew—and maybe even fall in love with it all over again.
