The setting of Waterbury, Connecticut, is vividly portrayed throughout this novel. Time is of the essence to prevent a catastrophic destruction of the once idyllic setting of Kevin's hometown. When the journalist is murdered, it is now up to Kevin and Skinny Legs to continue their investigation of this vicious cult. However, a series of events makes Kevin begin to question Skinny Legs' motives and possible ties to this violent cult.

Tony had a thirty-eight-year career with the federal government.
